Hello Meducks. My husband is a big drinker (borderline alcoholic, don't tell him!!) We have had many fights over this. Dose drinking out off 330ml glass bottles get you more drink then say 500ml cans? He says it doent but I'm sure it dose. Dose drinking a pint in a pub get you more drunk then drinking a pint at home. Would love to now what you think so I can tell that dog of a husband of mine.

ah he'll be fine unless its a blue moon
You are confusing volumes of liquid with alcoholic quantity, whereas you should be referring to the volume of alcohol within the drink and the quantity being drunk. Where you drink is pretty irrelevant in the early stages of alcoholism, although dependency can affect this at some stage.

Rather than trying to bombard him with factoids, why not try to emphasise how this is affecting you and your relationship. Alcoholism isnt a laughing matter really and can destroy the lives of those who are alcoholic as well as those around them. See here for info:

There is lots of free help available out there if this is a serious issue.

Goodness, you really are quite obtuse. A 50ml can of what? Lilt?
a 500ml can is equal to one pint therefore a 300ml bottle is less than a pint. there is no way that a 300ml bottle will get him more drunk as long as it is the same beer as the can.
if the bottle was an export beer and the can was a simple can of carling then the export would perhaps have a higher alcohol content.

Also him drinking a bottle at home is less alcohol than drinking in the pub. he would drink less at home than a night in the pub.

men like beer Julie ! simple as that
if he is drinking less than 5 bottles a night then this is okay-ish
i think. anymore than that is too much.

my dad has drunk too much for yrs and says 'its like water to me'. drives us all mad but you cant tell them. they will do what they want as they think they are not harming anyone.

if Julie's hubbie is over consuming and its a major factor in their marriage then this is something that needs to be addressed.

Look at the units printed on the cans and bottles. If I drank 250ml of 40% whisky, I'd be far, far more drunk than 500ml of 4% lager.
