Those were the days lol, lots of eyeballs!!!evading the Police was the best part!! especially when you have a suicide pill on your DV27.
My car was the red shed lol i have forgotten more than i knew i think, wonder how we would have gone on if they had had a ban on using them whilst driving lol
lol yes!

Had one as a teen (before I discovered pubs anyway). I remember I chatted for several weeks to a lad and convinced he was gorgeous agreed to meet him in the local park along with my friend.

As we turned the corner, there he was, and my god he was ugly! I was mortified, so we carried on walking, and never even stopped to say hello.
I had one, never spoke to anyone abroad though

I was lucky if I reached 2 miles away, I only had a small aerial fixed to a biscuit tin
A bloke in the next street had one of them 20ft aerials on his roof and I could hear him 20 channels away...the bast@rd!

Yes those were the days until the wallies as usual spoilt it all.I used to DX from the Beacon Hill in Leicestershire couldn't believe some of the contacts I made but have the QSL cards to prove it and must admit I was a little illegal and was caught once with a burner got fined 25.By the way handle was Whisky Lady.
At first CB radio was illegal, but they did legalise it, I remember the queues outside the all night post office in Trafalgar Square! BTW - I'm from flying town (Preston), so named because of all the BAC factories in Preston.
