Female Viagra comes to the NHS

A new patch for women who don't feel as frisky as they may once have done has come to the NHS this week. The makers of this drug Intrinsa say it could transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of women, doing what Viagra did for men. Currently it is only available on prescription for post-menopausal women but will probably be available over the counter as a lifestyle drug, like Viagra. What do you think? Is this a miracle cure that could save marriages and make women feel alive again? Or do you think it's dangerous to pump our bodies full of hormones?

I think that MrBen has inadvertently hit on the point here.

The representation of it being a female �viagra� identifies that the drug would be for those with sexual dysfunction. Many women find that sex is un-enjoyable or indeed an unattractive proposition due to psychological issues that may prevent them from being able to enjoy it. The drug - which is largely a big dose of testosterone - won�t really help those women who for some reason or other have mental barriers putting them off the idea of sex in the first place.

Presenting this advert (sorry article on Intrinsa from the press) as a means to get all women worked up into raging nymphomaniacs that can �save marriages� and make women �feel alive again� erroneously suggests that �marriages fail� and women feel �half dead� because of their lack of libido.

Can this really be true?
Will viagra replace diamonds and become the new 'girls best friend'!

knew what foreplay was
didn't watch football in bed
didn't want a quickie after the pub
and took some time to set the mood !!

Gosh, I have an excess of testosterona, and actually take medication AGAINST it, because the only thing it does is popping pimples on my face, which is quite disgusting considering I'm not a teenager anymore... I never noticed any increase in my libido after this problem of mine was diagnosed, so, I hardly believe a pill can make women "frisky", our issues are much more from the brain than from the body, like someone else here said...

Reina, if you have an excess of testosterone and you are female, as i suspect, then i think it would give you spots.

testosterone is the male sex hormone. Eastrogen is the female equivalent.. if any adult male or female is given a boost in their own genders sex hormone it should boost the sex drive.....
