Is it possible to obtain either the originals or copies of a direct relatives medical records after they have deceased? If so what is the procedure? Many thanks.

All NHS Trusts have a policy on viewing records and must tell you what it is. Records must be kept for seven years after the person has died and I imagine that you would need to have a rteason for your request. there will probably also be a charge. All NHS trusts must also have a named person or role for dealing with complaints and must tell you who this is. If you have any problems, then the Citizens advice bureau should be able to help. If the Trust you need to deal with has a website, then there should also be advice on there.
