Should I pull a sickie?

Well, it's my birthday today (11th) and I was wondering - Should I pull a sickie?! (I mean take the day off work!) I wouldn't be lying completely, as I really am quite sick....How bad would it look being as it is my b'day? Your thoughts would be appreciated.....

1. It's too obvious. Your employers aren't stupid.
2. If you wanted your birthday off, you should have booked it off as holiday in advance. You knew when it was!

I should have seen that one! I meant today, being the 11th. I'm not actually 11, I'm 27! Although I do wish I was 11 again as I wouldn't have to make the effort and go to work!

Happy Birthday! It's mine next Tuesday and I'm not going into work, booked it off weeks ago, like the sensible chap I am! Just go in and ask if you can have tomorrow off then get totally bladdered tonight!

Other people at work had already booked it off well before christmas so it wasn't even worth me asking my boss. So I did try to be organised, but sadly it didn't work! People seem to book holidays a year or so in advance so maybe I sould book 2008's birthday off this year.
And truthfully, I think I have man flu, even though I'm a girlie!
