I'm 17 years old, and I am going for a 5 mile charity run this Sunday at 11am. I was just wondering what is the best type of food I should have and when I should have it on the day. (E.g. carbs and to not eat anything for a 3hrs, etc). Any other tips to help me on the day, or before will help as well.

On the morning eat a light breakfast and drink a pint of fluid.
Half an hour before the run, eat a banana and a small can of ANYTHING sugary. The ones served on airplanes size.
Although 5 miles is not really enough to dehydrate, if you feel lightheaded or sick during the race stop immediately and drink water. Drinking some throughout the run should prevent this, but not necessary UNLESS an absolute scorching morning.
However after the run replace your fluid levels with lots of water.

Mate I used to run semi seriously and trust me you dont need to carbo load for a 5 mile run. People will say do this and do that but in reality it's a learning curve and whats good for one is not always good for another. Just eat normally, take on plenty of fluid the day before, I never used to eat in the 3 hours leading up to a race but like I said each to their own. If it goes well and you do another then follow the same routine, the most important thing to do is pace yourself, set yourself a target of 7 minute miles or whatever otherwise you'll do a quick first mile then suffer! Just enjoy it!
