Is it safe to use this on your skin? My friend uses it as a cleanser and has loverly clear skin but I am worried about possible side effects

No problem on your mis posting hun.
I used that stuff to rub on my ears when I had just had them pierced, was told it would 'harden' the skin.

Think it's just like the old Clarins No. 2 toner, quite alcoholic and strips the skin of its' natural oils. Your friend must be using a good moisturiser!

Some old soldiers used to wee-wee in their boots to

1) Kill any bacterial infection
2) Make skin harder
3) Prevent other soldiers stealing their kit.

Regarding number 2, surgical spirit is used to harden the feet and thus prevent blisters.
