Hahahaha, no... my mate split with his GF last year and has been living in mexico for the last year.... I just feel stuck in a rut and need to do something with my life before i wake up at 50 wondering where its gone.

My work mate's 20 yr old son was on the news last week for walking with a group around the North Pole... he's still there now... what an adventure! (But 15K in sponsorship!!!)
I thought gap years were for people who could afford to take a year out and still be able to pay the bills ect, normally students do it because they normally are living at home with the parents and have no real responsibilities bar their coursework

also how many smaller companies are going to let you go away for a year whilst you have a gap year??

Probably none... but I wouldn't have a problem with leaving and getting a new job on return... what more of an incentive to leave a job? Especially mine... Bit of an issue at the mo as my finance man is due on maternity next week and the girl who took over is Polish and came from another depo, so i'm the only one who knows anything...... so I'd feel bad dropping them in it....

But when she comes back... OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSS....!!!.
No, everyone feels a little burnt out (work-wise)at some point, a gap year is great to get a new perspective on things and a long hard look at what you really want to achieve in life.

Jump, you're totally right.... even more the reason to do it.

Debts to pay this year and start saving for the whole of next year to do it, I reckon.
