Unless you live in a smog-filled inner city, what is wrong with just opening a window?

I always thought they sound like a great fat con.
I work in a care home and we use them in residents rooms if they get a bit smelly and they do work very well for that.
Hi Cockney_si
I personally think they are great.
I had two in my last house and threw them out when we moved as they were old.
I too love the windows open all night in the bedroom, but I have never had a decent sleep since we moved and I am sure it is with not having the air purifier. I am intending to get one soon and my Husband agrees too. We both slpet better when we had them.

There are lots of types of air purifiers but the most effective are the ones that are using a combined technology of ionic breeze, HEPA filtering system and so on. For example, http://ionicbreezeairpurifiers.com presents you some purifiers with ionic breeze technology and others with HEPA. Also combined. The best in my opinion is the IQAir Health Pro.
