Phishing sites

I got sucked in by one of these, some guy who couldn't speak/type English, sent me an e-mail through a site that immitated an E-bay page, he asked for my bank details so he could pay me for the lap top I was selling and that he had won. (I never had a lap top for sale) I guess some people would think that they could make some money and be tempted to give these details out, DON'T! These people are evil. I can't believe that people can be so coniving and devious. Never divulge anything unless you are sure it is legitimate and then think again! I just feel like throwing the whole IT thing out of the window, if its not hackers, its viruses and worms but this is plain dispicable!

The whole carriage could hear her full name, Credit Card no, the start/expiry date, the security no, and her address for posting the tickets.
Some unscrupulous people would have done as I did and written everything down to be used on a holiday somewhere nice and sunny.
There is no excuse for individual stupidity, but it exists.

You were quite happy to give him your bank details to try and get money for something that you didn't have? It seems that oddly, this scam isn't realying on deception quite as much as it's relying on pure dishonest greed!
Perhaps we need nannying more if people can't quite grasp the basics of living their lives. Every evening we'll be forced to watch 15 minutes of state TV where they explain things to us.
Lesson 1 - Be careful who you give your bank details to.
Lesson 2 - Eating chips, crisps and coke all day will make you fat
Lesson 3 - Unprotected sex might lead to STDs or pregnancy.

ooohhhh, the indignance!, the outrage!, the horror of it all!... yet YOU were quite happy to become one of these CONNIVING, DEVIOUS and EVIL people when you thought you were going to SCAM a few hundred quid off someone for nothing, weren't you??
if he'd made a genuine mistake, did you think he wouldn't have noticed and you would have got away with it?
he had your bank details...duurrrr!
if someone pulled a stunt like you did, with me, i would clean them out - for spite.
you deserve all you got.

Hey! Steady On every one, I DID NOT GIVE MY BANK DETAILS OUT! You are not reading properly! When I say I got sucked in I actually answered this guys e-mail to say "Sorry you have the wrong person" which on hind sight I should not have done because he now knows my E-mail address is active. Would I write to AB complaining about this sort of thing If I was just as bad? I don't think so! Thanks for your reassuring replies ( David Small this does not apply to you) But like the guy that tried to trick me, "You've all got the wrong person!!!!!!!
