Is it considered a bit 'sad' if a lady goes to a pub on her own, say if she was waiting for someone? Or even just fancied a drink but no one else she knew did!?

The amount of times i've been with mates who have noticed a women come into a pub on her own, then they start nudging each other as if they have a right to go and chat her up or start staring at her is no ones business, it must be quite intimidating at times for women to go into certain pubs/clubs, but the ''confidence factor'' and ''speaking your mind'' are two ingredients to have if your not to feel intimidated, as for a bit ''sad''. not at all, you go where you want anytime you feel like it

I quite often do that! I would just go to my local, or the pub round the corner from work on a friday, and read a book for a couple hours! Why should you confine yourself to your house just because you have noone to go with you that day? I agree that you become an easy "target" for annoying men, but I find that silence and an evil stare does the trick! lol they might think I'm the biatch from hell, but at least I can drink my pint in peace! lol
