I have noticed my 5 year old lab has got a little line of greying hair on her bottom lip . Would you go grey gracefully or not ?

I'm 38 and have very dark brown hair and have a bit of grey at the sides and in the stubble on my chin and the birds love it!

Hi mamma, I am 37 and have a small grey patch on my fringe, I have been told it looks distinguished, I plan to go grey disgracefully!

Seriously, I guess it depends if you are male or female, nothing worse that an older bloke with obviously dyed hair. I think women can get away with dyeing they hair for longer but sooner or later it starts to look ridiculous too.

Grey hair on men can be very distinguishing and attractive.

That should be a five star rating lol. Another angle on your question is when do u stop wearing ripped jeans, getting tattoos/piercings, going to all nighters etc etc

No way would I grow old gracefully!! I think it really ages a woman. My mum for instance is 50 but looks younger. If she didn't die her hair though she'd probaly look her age or older, it can make a huge huge difference. Fair play to anyone that doesn't though. And yes, I agree that it generally looks fine on men to go grey.

50 is not old for a woman to dye her hair, I was think more of the lady who used to get on my bus sometimes she must have be in her late 70's at least and she dyed her hair black.

A hairdresser once told me that as you get older go lighter not darker, guess that makes sense.

When ladies of a certain age decide to dye their grey hair, do they also dye their "lady garden" to match?

Yeah, I'd hopefully have hung up the hair dye by 70 odd but who knows?! I'll probably still think I look lovely with my aubergine hair, orthopaedic shoes and wrinkly gaunt face, I'll probably be one of the ones who still puts on false eyelashes and liquid eyeliner at 80!

Ha ha tiny don't forget the pan stick (orange) and the blobs of rouge (bright red) for your cheeks and never ever blend in the rouge, it just ruins the whold effect!

I'm grey and balding never bothers me for a single minute, I do keep my hair very short but only coz I'm a lazy git and cant be bothered with all that styling and combing malarkey, I used to shave it all off!! and be totally bald but that was even harder work!!

I think it is a bit different for women than it is for men. Women see a man's greying hair as distinguished and rather attractive and it seems men tend to go grey earlier than women. With most women it just makes them look older, partly because the hair looses its shine.. I love my RATTER's greying hair, but although I am 9 years older than he is, I myself don't yet feel ready for grey hair. I do have patches of grey hair, which annoy me. If I were going grey evenly I would probably feel OK about it. My Mum went grey in patches too and so hated it. So, at the moment I do dye my hair about every two to three months. My natural hair colour is very dark, but I am dyeing it lighter now as this looks softer and it won't be such a huge change when I am an even grey and no longer want to dye my hair.
