Thug Culture.
30 Answers
Two wrongs do not make a right. However, looking at the poor cat below and the incessant chav and thug culture many English towns have befallen to from both our children and imported ones, would you turn a blind eye to vigilantism.
Would an "A Team" like operation to combat such things as opposed to our pathetic Police Force dealing with it in their touchy touchy politically correct manner work. Or would communities loathe such involvement by non-crown officials?

I was walking into college the other day & group of young student lads were standing just by the entrance, when one of them made an awful noise with his throat & gobbed on the floor, right in front of me.
I said to him "'Scuse me, did you have to do that right by my foot". He gave me such an inane look & said "Yeah, sooo, whatchyooo gonna do about it?".
I wanted to give him some verbal, but gnored him & went into reception to complain. The security guard came out & had a severe word with him & he walked off in a huff. The rest of the boys all apologised on his behalf & said he was just a ********! This restored my faith a little.
Can I just add, in case you were wondering - the cocky little git who spat was white & all the others who were very nice & polite, were black. Sorry, but I had to mention that.

in america they have ''guardian angels'' - a sort of gang of goody tough guys that patrol the streets and subways - don't know it they still do but i wonder it something like that was brought in, would it help?
i doubt it would deter the real hardcore criminals much, but i reckon the teens and lightweight thugs and petty thieves may be lessened
any americans had any experience of them?
do you think they are effective?

I have to disagree fundamentally with 4getmenot - these thugs need extreme violence in return, not politically correct understanding, poor little dears.
I firmly believe that the human creature has an innate sense of right and wrong from a quite early age - after all, if you hit me - it hurts. So you know it is wrong.
Vigilante groups are not a solution. However stirring Charles Bronson films are, all you'll get, eventually, is a bullet in the head in return.
There is no solution, we will see more and more ghettos, and no-go areas as these charmers establish their territories and bring the language of pre-civilization to Britain's streets. As long as I don't live there, I don't give a stuff. It's too bloody late to do anything about it.

I was walking towards 3 lads on a street corner a few weeks ago, and felt quite intimidated as they all stared at me. When I was closer, one of them just said 'hello,' but I was so uncomfortable with the whole situation, I just walked past. (Not that I would have stopped to chat anyway!) All fairly innocent, and just me being a bit self-conscious perhaps. But as I walked on, saying nothing, one of them called me all sorts of names. What kind of behaviour is that?? I'm probably the same age as their mothers - where's the respect?? A nice hello is one thing if it's friendly, but the whole thing was purposely done to make me uncomfortable. I bet I'm not the only one who's had something like that happen! This isn't a city, or even a big town either - everyone knows everyone here, and there are very few 'imported' children. These scrotes were local.
I imagined all kinds of revenge later on, but as you say JTL - two wrongs and all that......but do we all just sit back and let it happen??

I think when the kids start vandalising or wrecking the place instead of the council tidying it up the thugs should be made to repair the damage, the parents should foot the bill or have the amount deducted from their benefits.
Parents should be fined if their kids are not at school.long term thugs should spend their days being supervised whilst repairing and rejuvinating previous eyesore area's.
hard labour would make them think twice, not the cosy prisons that they have now, parents need to be made accountable where the child is under age, damage to property should be paid for by the parent of the vandal.
