AB is bang out of order with this question. The parents of Madeleine McCann are being tortured enough without the 'holier than thou' finger pointing brigade spouting nonsense like this. Posting the question is downright irresponsible and is no help to anyone.

the parents went out for their own selfesh needs..those children should never have been left on their own and i am sure the parents will live with this guilt for the rest of their lives.

Tonight I am going for a meal with my girlfriend and leaving our 6 year old daughter with a baby sitter. She has our mobile number in case anything happens and her parents only live round the corner.

I'm not going to be drinking as I'm driving and afterwardswe may go for a drink but that's not before we put the car away and check on our daughter first.

I think the parents are in the wrong and when they do find Maddie they should charge the parents with neglect, maybe the police are already thinking of taking their children away from them

I can't see any reason why they can't prosectute the parents.
Just to get my bit in,
not only did they leave the kid's unattended but they also left the patio door unlocked to gain easy access when they came back and checked on there 3 children of all under 4 years old.
However I wish that they find closure soon to this situation.
I don't understand why people who say I wouldn't leave my children unattended are accused of being "holier than thou!". No one is saying they deserve this, well maybe one or two are but it was poor, poor judgment from people you would expect better from. The parents are bound to feel guilt over this and must know that people think that they made a bad bad choice. Just because I wouldnt do it, doesnt me I love my children any more, I just trust things less than they do. I would have been more concerned about fire.

What I don't understand is that they didn't trust the babysitting service because they didn't know what they were going to get with a stranger, yet would leave them alone.

Personally I have nothing but admiration for the strength they have shown through this, they do not deserve to have their children taken off them. That would be of no interest to anyone involved. They will rarely let their kids out of supervised sight ever again I imagine. If she doesnt return thats a whole family destroyed and if she is returned the aftermath of this will be felt for a long time.
it does seem to cruel to say but they should never have left them - for so many reasons. If they were at home and there was a pub across the road in a place where they could still see the front door - would they have left them now? No i doubt it very much - if social services would have found out their would have been uproar.

Also - why, after their littke girl had been taken did they suddenly chose to leave theri little twins in a creche out there the other day??!! I would never take my eyes off them again if my little girl had been snatched - i find it very odd.

The point i am trying to make is that while everyone else looks for Maddie, too many poeple are more interested in having a go at her parents. No doubt they wish they had done things differently now, but the time for finger pointing is when they get her back. We all make mistakes in life and although this one is a cracker, it remains only a mistake. I still say that posting the question was wrong and could lead to all sorts of bother for the family when they return home.
