I had this done in 1991 and it really did make alot of difference to my general well being TSRE is what it is called, trans surgical reseaction of the endometrium. I was ok after about a week or so, I had 3 kids in primary school and so life was very stressful and hectic but I have always been glad i had the op. It meant that the nead for a hysterectomy has never arisen and is unlikely to, touch wood. Plus it completely stopped any periods after about 3 months and so 15 years later can you imagine the saving on tampax!!!! that was one of the advantages.

it was done under general anaesthetic which i dreaded and so i asked for a strong sedative before the op. I was sore afterwards immediatley because of theat airway thing they put in your throat, but don't recall being too bad otherwise. It was a small cut near my belly button as i recall and anoither one lower down, my mum came to pick me up afterwards and she was amazed it has been done that way and needed a stitch, but guess that is what trans surgical means.
Called a TCRE. Had this done and unfortunately it still did not stop my periods. Have since had a sub-total hysterectomy where they leave the cervix and the ovaries and seemed ok at the start but have now had periods as what I wasn't warned about was that whilst they leave your cervix they also leave just the neck of the womb so this can still cause periods. Hope your TCRE works - it is worth a try and not invasive at all and I returned home the same day.
