How can I find a decent hairdresser in Somerset

Moved to Somerset a while ago and it's been a problem finding a good hairdresser. Frankly I'm sick of being charged a fortune for terrible haircuts and awful highlights/lowlights. Has anyone been to a hairdresser they can recommend or can anyone point me in the direction of any websites that offer unbiased reviews of salons. Thanks folks. Bizzylizzy

Can't give you local advice, but when I move to a new place, I go round looking in the hairdressers until i finfd one where I think that the people who work there have nice hair themselves, then go in and I enquire about price, etc to check out the cleanliness before booking. I do sympathise, I always want to take my hairdresser and my dentist with me when I move !!

Can't help with the area either but know how you feel - just about to try a new hairdresser myself!! Be bold & when you see someone with lovely hair done the way you would like, tell them & ask where they had it done.Most people love a compliment & will happily tell you where they went. Good luck (to us both!).

I moved to Somerset some time ago and have taken a while to find a hairdresser. However one has recently moved into Burnham-on-Sea from Salisbury and is particularly good for colours and trendy cuts...not sure what you were after. The salon is called Snips (it is new) Tel: [phone].

Thanks Sweetie. It would have helped if I'd mentioned where I live in Somerset wouldn't it. It's South of Taunton. Unfortunately Burnham is a fair old jaunt from where I live. But thanks for the input anyway. Nice of you to reply. bizzylizzy
