A question about contact lenses

I have been getting my contact lenses from a small independant optician and I have to have Acuvue Oasys as I have what it is called "dry eye".
As I dont wear my contacts as regular as I first thought I would, I want to change it so I only get them when I need them and not have to pay a monthly direct debit.
I have found I can do this from Specsavers. However, they do not do the brand I am used to. They do their own brand called Easyvision. I believe their Easyvision Elite monthly disposables is the closest to what I currently use.
Sorry for the long explanation!!........I was just wondering if anyone out there has/does use this brand of lenses, if so, what are they like and am I right in thinking these would be ok for me. I did try speaking to one of their advisors but she wasn't very helpful!

I use Specsavers but for proclear toric lenses on a monthly plan so I couldn�t suggest that the ones you refer are a close alternative. But I have no particular concerns with Specsavers in general.

If the lady was unhelpful then perhaps you should go somewhere else as she should be able and willing to tell you exactly what you need to know. Have you enquired as to whether your own optician would just sell you a few pairs and then buy further sets as and when required? If they are to keep your custom, they may be willing to come to some arrangement.

I have dry eyes also so only wear mine at weekends. I get daily disposables from contactlenses.co.uk. You can buy single boxes or multiple packs.

They are miles cheaper than my optician and you dont get tied into taking out a direct debit - just enter your prescription and requirements and they come through the post the next day. I get coloured ones too which are good fun.

Obviously it is important to keep a check on your eye health with your optician. But don't let them tie you into a contract that you dont need!!

I get acuvues from Specsavers, I expect they could source oasys ones if they wanted to. Although I would tend to agree with Julieeve-just get lenses checks regularly with optician and buy the lenses on line-that would probably work out quite economical but you have to do your research. All opticians are awkward bu66ers about it and try to get you to get lenses through them, but there's no reason why should-I just opted for easy life and ended up with specsavers and pay monthly.

I have enquired about other arrangements from my opticians but they say they cannot offer me anything else. When I mentioned going to Specsavers, they just made me a good offer on some new frames!
I think as I am due to have a check up for contacts, I will get this done at Specsavers and ask again about what of their range is best for me and take it from there.
