As Shaneystar2 has said 'plethora' means 'excess of something', and 'orexia' relates to appetite ( as in 'an-orexia', the 'an' bit meaning 'without').
So it could be concluded that the word means an excessive appetite or binge-eating, I suspect this word has been derived to be a kinder description of people who suffer from binge-eating (a recognised eating disorder these days).
