yellow toenails

hi i have good healthy feet except one thing..both my big toe nails have a yellow ting to them..the other toenails don't it is just both the big toes..they have been like this for a few years now...any ideas why..or how to get rid of it...thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Mine was caused by the first three toes on my left foot being broken and virtually sliced off, the nail bed was injured during the 'accident' and the regrowth has been slow and erratic, i am on hols on 4 weeks and if i can't get a pedicure that allows a diamante to be stuck on my big toes before i fly out i will get quite annoyed., grrrr
Sounds very like a fungle nail infection, gp will confirm, but without seeing it i cant tell either, but if it is your gp will prescribe a course of tabs that you have to take for about 6mths for it to be tr5eated properly, do you also suffer from athletes feet?? as the two seem to go hand in hand, or should i say feet and feet! lol
