I said, after my 1st child, "never ever again"......and my 2nd husband seemed ok with that plan too, simply wasn't interested in having a child of his own, was quite happy bringing my daughter up as his own. However, 16 years alter.....we hit mid 30's and something (biological clock maybe?) made us both change our minds, and along came Mini Boo.

My brother and his wife have one daughter. She has decided that she doesnt want any children and her mum is very upset about this, however, it is my nieces choice and she shouldnt have children if she doesnt want them for the sake of making her mother happy. I too would be upset at the thought of no grandkids but i would resepect their decision not to have them.
I worry for my own 3 year old son and what life will be like as he grows up but it wouldnt make me decide not to have them for that reason alone. Im glad that part of you is happy about this decision but as 4get says, you will get some in time via your other children no doubt.

Well I would happily say to my Mother or Grandmother "The Joe_the_Lion clan stops with me"
Coming from a fairly large family of Uncles and Aunts, I have no siblings and nor are there any boys in my family to carry the name on.
I feel sad for my Great Grandfather who was killed at the Somme, who fought for this country to save us from the start of Germany's fascist empire, but my name will die with me. :-(
