I would say I was both. I can look on the bright side when I don't do aswell as I like in something but am very full of self pity.

Both.

Will I have a great weekend - optimistic
Will I win the lottery - pessimistic

No self pity about it.
im irish
Essentially an optimist. i can usually see good in most things, and things i can't alter like global warming, I simply don;t worry about.
Well my glass is always half full.......
Neither, I'm a realist - if the glass was half emptied it would be half empty, if the glass was filled half way it would be half full. Andy Hughes you are a fool to think minimising your environmental impact won't have a positive effect on the environment.
I'm an eternal optimist. Glass half full, not half empty!

Oh how sweet

What I meant is that my glass is never less than half full
I'm just glad to have a glass nowadays...
A pessimist is merely an optimist who has lived a little longer!
Sheer bl**dy luxury ... in my day we never 'ad a glass.!
