i have had a lot of problems in the last year with my bf we split up . for about the last 6 months now we have had a long talk and we are going to give it a go again . i have been with him nearly 18 years have 2 kids with him , has any one else split up and got back together and did it work

I reckon that after so long together you have to at least give it a go.

Remember what you saw in each other in the first place and recall all the good times you have had together.

I don't know how old you are but for me, 18 years would be half my life - and you have two children to consider. I'm not saying you should give it a go just because of the kids but you loved each other enough to spend 18 years together, surely that love can't just disappear, its probably buried beneath loads of other mundane stuff!

Try and work through the tough times and see what happens. It might not work out but at least you would be able to say that you tried.

You may be one of the lucky ones it works for but ask yourself if you want him back because you miss him and he makes you happy, or if you want him back because your scared of a different future.
If it's the latter, get out now before you waste another 18 years.
Trust me the life you find after is much better.
