Thinking of getting some kind of exercise machine for the home but not sure what type to get. Would just like to tone up generally, especaily the stomach and upper body - don't want to build up too much muscle. Would a rowing maching do the job, or one of these nordic ski things. Can anyone recommend anything else? Preferably something with a book and wine holder built in! :o)

I would spend as little as possible on exercise machine my wife has bought several over the years and they have all gathered dust after a few goes on them .The one machine I can recommend is an AB cruncher it looks like a bit set of handlebars and you lie on the floor under it and do sit ups. It does actually work and improove your stomach muscles and gives less strain to your stomach and back muscles and as you can buy them for under 20 it is cheap enough if you run out willpower and stop using it.If you do want something more technical look in the bargain section of your local paper and you'll see loads of stuff thats hardly been used.
