Women who only date men young enough to be their sons

No longer is it just Demi Moore and Madonna who are dating the younger man it is older women in general. Women are now doing what men have done for years � going for the mate they find most attractive. What do you think? Would ever date someone who was young enough to be your child?

To be fair Madonna is only 10 years older than Guy..and while Demi is about 16 years older than Ashton and technically old enough to be his mum, I don't think you can really use that couple as an example.

If the woman was 20 or 30 years older, yes..I can see why that may be frowned upon, although each to their own, live & let live and all that ;o)

Personally I wouldn't want to date/marry anyone who is old enough to be my dad. You may have certain things in common, and at the start of the relationship everything may be peachy. However as you get older the age gap matters more. You also have to bear in mind that women mature faster than men..who usually start regressing once they hit 45 ;o)

My husband is 3 years younger than me but i'm only 35. 10 years isn't a big gap, but I dont think I could personally date someone who was old enough to be my child. However if the person is happy with the age gap why not. It's more about personality and how much you love someone not how old they are.

I think once you go 15 years in either direction you are starting to get into deep water!! whilst it may work for a while I think the age gap will start taking its toll and things are likely to go wrong.

I would still say "go for it" you will never know if you don't try!! and they do often work!!

Its not new, Joan Collins did it, Lucille Ball did it and many Greek, Egyptian, Roma, Medieval queens did it. Various reasons, mostly ambitious or politically motivated, some for love. We all live largely by our own rules � I personally wouldn�t turn down the offer of a date because she was 18 years old and half my age!! But if two people are happy, what does it really matter to us?

A member of my family is married to someone nearly 30 years his junior and it seems to work out just fine. It depends on the individual and your background. Some people go through so much before they've hit 30 that they find it hard to relate to their own age group and actually older suits them as they've seen life more.

Ditto, there are some peolpe out there who act so much younger than their age that their own age group wouldn't suit them either.

It's personal and individual choice.

(And as an aside who phrases these questions?! 'Young enough to be your child' I mean for goodness sake, do you not think that's a bit leading and slightly judgemental for a random question? Is it the same person that writes those wonderful polls that thinks homelessness as an easy way out is actually an option?! Come on AB techs... use the collective brain cell!)

I've dated somebody 26 years older than me. I was homeless at the time and she was fairly affluent and we drank gallons of wine together. She had a very high sex drive which was alright by me but she had a very fragile mind state as her last boyfriend was a complete monster. He has now been extradited to finish a jail sentence that he escaped from using maffia connections.

I'd be surprised if his former associates have any loyalties left for him. He was a total monster and I suspect he became an informant to Interpol after he was re-arrested as his sentence was disproportionately small following his capture. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a price on his head, either that or I've watched too many movies! Besides which, I've never done anything to harm him and he battered and raped numerous women and children, including my ex. Providence dictates that if he started a vendetta against me the Gods would favour the righteous man.

Not only that, but the Q seems to assume that women are the ones initiating these relationships. One wonders whether the AB Asks �team� decided that asking why young men date women old enough to be their mothers (or even gerontophiles �ooh, you never said you had such a gorgeous Gran�) was less sensationalist?
