I did the race for life today, when I took my sock off it was covered in blood and my toe is in agony. It has some pus around the edges.
What are the chances I lose a nail??

Well done on the race for life thing anyway.
I am not sure, but I just wanted to say good for you on doing the race :)

Have you tried bathing your feet?
Sorry to hear about your foot but well done for doing the run! I did it a couple of years ago and had some similar problems. My trainers were causing me a lot of grief and when I took them off both my big toes were bloody under the nails. Unfortunately I did lose both nails which actually sounds a lot worse than it was. Try to keep your foot clean (try washing it in some lightly salted water to get any infection out) I found that as it was summer I could wear sandals so there was nothing rubbing on the toes and they eventually hardened off so when the nails came off the skin underneath was quite hard. I also found that the occasional soak in my foot spa made them feel better.
Soak your feet in salt water sunflower. Well done!!!!!!!!!!
blimey well done, an AB hero!!!!!!!! chuffed for you excellent!!!

Well done on doing the Race for Life sunflower & hope your foot feels less painful soon.

I agree to soaking your foot, but if it gets any worse you could always pop into see the nurse at your surgery.

LOL crossroads very funny, made me feel better anyway!
Wow, I do love you guys, so many lovely things said...awwwwwwww shucks. (blushes)
I will get the salt water out I think. Went for a swim after with kids and hubby but couldn't do a lot with my feet, though they got nice and clean.
Bens mum as you know, the thought of the nail slipping off now fills me with dread ( I thought it might float to the pool surface!) but if it drops of when it hardens it will be ok I guess. Thanks guys!!!xxxxxxxxxx
Well done my sun. I done a 10k road race for charity a few years ago and can still feel the adrenalin rushing through me now as I speak about it.
As for the toe nail I kicked a kerb playing football a few years ago (dont ask) and me foot was full of blood as well and had 5 stiches in me big toe.
The nail eventually dropped of after about a year but dont worry to much as it is not painfull
Well done sunflower xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Well done you !!

I lost both my big toes nails kickboxing but they do grow back! If yours do fall off you could always nail varnish the nubbin where your nail used to be so they all match, no ones going to bend down to check are they?
lol Black Noir - varnish the nubbin indeed! I'm still laughing!!

Well done sunflower xx
It won't fall off, but you need to let it heal without wearing restrictive shoes.

Oh and throw away those awful trainers and get some bigger ones!

Nubbin indeed!! LOL
As for wearing shoes Panic that's the last thing I can imagine, just about got some flip flops on today, toe still sore so going to rest it tomorrow. : )
