I was told that I have diabetes by my doctor, Whilst getting my tablets at the chemist , the pharmacist inform me that i should get tablets free. I filled a form in at the doctors 2 months ago, but have not heard anything since. How long do you have to wait .

i get free prescriptions because I have an underactive thyroid and i get a crad from the family practitioner committee in preston that lasts 5 years (i think it is) it will be your local FPT that has your aplication maybe, I also think because you have diabetes you get free chiropody, check out the booklet you should get with your card when it arrives.
you should definitely have heard by now, my son has epilepsy and he applied for a card and got in within 2 weeks. Being a diabetic you also qualify for free eye sight tests too, as diabetics are at risk of glaucoma
