Religious reasons, or for hygiene, or because at that age they don't have the abilty to shout " Stop cutting the end off my k**b !!!"

Muslims do it too. It was long thought to be somehow hygienic (though the same level of hygiene can be achieved by washing), and this may be the source of the religious requirement. It was fairly common until quite recently but seems to have fallen out of favour.

incidentally, Jesus would have been circumcised, and it is supposed the foreskin, having been long separated, would therefore not have ascended to heaven with him. It was believed to be in France but was stolen a while ago.

There used to be an ad for some new American car which showed it driving so smoothly across NYC despite all the potholes that a mohel was able to circumcise a baby in the back seat. No idea if this was real live.

Lonnie, I don't think we have a local synagogue, we don't have much need for them in my neck of the woods!!!

but if you hear of a savagely de-genitalised Mohel in Devon then I found the synagogue!!!!
