i have been out today to Tatton garden festival and it has been a reasonable day (if anyone here was also there the rowdy bunch of 'shopgirls' by the bandstand was indeed us) we had a 2 hour picnic with miniature bottles of weightwatchers Rose from Sainsburys and during that time i have managed to catch the sun quite badly on the back of my neck, next Sunday i go to Turkey and it is 42degrees there at the moment, what do you think my chances of survival are? : (

Slim to middling ;0P
Hi Dot - Hope you have a great holiday! 42 degrees sounds wonderful to me. Been back from my holiday for several weeks now (seems like months) and already think I could do with another one!

Hi dot
Probably zilch! Turkey is very very hot but I do hope you have a great holiday.
Use the highest sun factor you can find.
I loved Turkey but the heat was unbearable.
Seriously? Weight Watchers booze? I'd rather have my toes nibbled off by a rabid ferret than have to drink that stuff.

B00 it was lovely, we had a red and a rose 7% i think it was and it really was quite good! actually in the Country Living tent we sampled about 15 different wines from Australian to Devonian and so we were well on our way before lunch!!! lol Oh the organic vodka was great too lol
sunburn is easily avoidable.
its usually caused by overexpposure and the lack of the correct sun protection cream and irregular reapplication of said cream.
ive seen many folk in the reef get sunburn very quickly , occassionally even being hospitalised for heat stroke.
even in the uk sun lotion should be used but people are turned mad by a bit of sun in the uk and feel the neeed to strip off and get lobster red.

so sun lotion , stay out of the midday sun ( as we know only mad dogs and englishmen go out in the midday sun)
and reapply the lotion regularly.
people think a high factor is enough.
but i believe the factor relates to how much longer than normal you can be exposed without burning.
but if youd burn without it i 5 minutes then a factor 10 would only protect you for 50 minutes in the sun.

correct me if im wrong plz.

btw its 88 degrees here right now and there are plenty mad lobsters walking around lol : -)

sun makes me smile : -)
Im a mad lobster!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

just got back from the Costa brava on sunday morning and i got burnt while i was there! Im regretting being silly in the sun now though cause all my lovely brown is peeling off and i look like i belong in a leper colony!

Legend is perfectly correct, easily avoidable!
Sorry my mind went blank after weight watchers booze, give me calorie free vodka any day.
i always put coke zero and diet ice in my vodka !!!
