I lady trapped in the floods went into premature labour because of the awful stress, both her twins died at birth. I know that this is for the News section but had to put it here, it is so upsetting.

He works in mysterious ways, and he has his reasons.
Why do the good die young?
Why do murderers and rapists live long healthy lives?
Why do children get cancer?
Why do the innocent die in road crashes?
Only he has the answer. I disagree with him on many points, but until own own judgement day, I guess we will never know. I am not as deeply religious as I sound, but confronted with the tradegy of this story, what other explanation can there truly be, if not a power greater than us?

Hi puss, That is a very sad story, why it happened who can say, I just feel for the parents of the babies, I am not religious and when things like this happen I know why i am not, nobody will ever convince me there is a god, a greater power maybe, but if there is a god, god has a lot to answer for, I will never understand how such innocence can just be wiped out for no apparant reason.
Uncle Raymondo (yep, it is moi), isn't it strange that the very thing that makes you not believe is the same thing that makes me believe.
I told you religion is odd!!!!
I am not a bible basher, pussnboots, far from it. Lord knows I sin on a regular basis, but to be succinct in my response, I can not accept that we arrived from a ball of gas 8 billion years ago. simple as that. Yes I believe in evolution but even from our descendantry of apes, I can not accept that we originally came from little more than a carbon fart!!!!
There has to be a creative hand somewhere down the line.

Hi Shadow, good to see you, and you Doc, I wish I could believe like you, But I find it so hard to take in, maybe it is my lack of education, virtually self taught because I hated school, so I struggle with with, theories and religion, maybe one day it will hit me, the daft thing is I find comfort in the little church where I live, but I never pray, just sit and think, is that ok to do that ? or is it hypocrisy ?
Here's a little clue for you all. The walrus was Paul

As I said Uncle Raymondo, I am far from a bible basher and theology is something I know little about. If a church is your sanctuary just to think, then I am sure that is OK. Job done I suppose. Whether your "issues" are thought out with a religious aforethought or not, the fact you are in a church, your free will has manifested itself in to an answer. Hey presto!!!
