Is my family weird?

My mum and dad have been married for 27 years... They have always had a joint bank account.
Is this normal?
Because it seems when I talk to people they don't have joint bank accounts.
And my boyfriend and I were talking about it and he said he would not want us to have a joint account either, not even when we were married.

My ex partner and i had a joint bank account. (and i was only about 21 at the time) We also had our own private accounts aswell. What we did was have our own � go into our own accounts, and every month, transfer a certain amount each into the joint account.. I'd have to keep my own account aswell tho. (otherwise il feel guilty if i go shopping ect!!!)
