Wasn't sure where to put this.
Just went to see my mum on my lunch break and was a bit freaked out.

She said she went to see a tarot reader last night and everything she said was spot on, down to things only me and my mum know, even down to tiny detail, i was so freaked out she even told her stuff about me that my mum never knew.

My mum has always been a sceptical person but was taken aback by this tarot reader. I had my cards read once and it was all a load of cr*p.

Just wondering do you beleive there are some genunine tarot readers or fortune tellers or you think its a load of bull??

100% billshut!!!!

in my opinion
I certainly think there are some very gifted people, who can talk the talk and make vague generalisations appear convincingly accurate. Derren Brown is the master.
Hmmm, they can only do it with gullible people...

What they do is ask a few questions about yourself and see your reactions. they are great people readers.
For instance they mention something about drink then see if your eyes light up or other expression on your face.

john you say bullsh1t but honestly the stuff she came out with was too acurate to be bull, i mean dont get me wrong some stuff was general, like having someone close to you dying but there was stuff she told my mum about me which she never knew about, so i cant all be bull.
Question Author
The one i had a few years back was complete bull he was trying so hard to get me to give him clues and i wasn't sayign a thing i was determined not to give anything away, im not a gullibul person and that one i had was complete bull.
ok then I stand corrected, it's 99.9% bull,

.1% accurate
Question Author
Yeah i agree 1% acurate the rest i think are money hungry liers
I disagree with johnlambert on this.
Its 99.9%
How many men do you know who have gone to see one, let alone beleive it...
The eminent psychologist, B R Forer conducted a series of tests to investigate what he termed the 'Barnum effect', and concluded that 'people tend to accept vague and general personality descriptions as uniquely applicable to themselves without realising that the same description could be applied to just about anyone.'

Just read your stars.
I have never met you but I do know that you were born in 1979, you dont like feet and you poo'd yourself when you were 8 while dancing in a green leotard

Yes you are very right hahaha thats not all either if you look properly
I agree with JL.

its all total bullsh!te,They know what buttons to press.

Why can't they give you the winning lottery numbers, or horse racing tips etc etc

MrBen summed it up in one word.

Gullible

Ps, can i add tho, that if people take comfort etc in this, thats all well and good, why do people want to see the future etc, take life as it comes, what will be will be i'm afraid
I agree with John on this one.Only I think it's 99.9% bull,

0.1% guesswork . A friend of mine (and his mother) were sure they could communicate with the non living, as they called the people who had died. When my wife died aged 44, my friend persuaded me to go to see one of these Tarot card readers to see if she could tell me anything. It was all generalised talk, with no mention that my wife had died. His mother died a few weeks later, and they had a pact that she would contact him with a code word that only those two knew.Ten years later, she has still not contacted him through a medium, or otherwise.
i always thought it was bullsh&t....until i went and she told me things that no one knew! about my past and stuff. She said stuff about my future - i cant say if thats true or not - only time will tell!! But she def was spot on about my past and how it effects me!
aha nannon, you just confirmed what others have said,
something HAS happened in your past and it has helped make you the person you are now, again, I dont know you personally but, if I asked you a few questions and observed your body language, I could easily guess what it was!!

Okay but get this. This lady told my mum she has 3 kids - guess work, that she doesn't see the eldest son, even how old he was- could be guess work i suppose.
She said things about me that were not generalised that i hadn't told my mum that was too in detail - could she be my stalker then????
Hmmm, she isnt pin pointing things, she is just saying key words and the rest your mum is actually telling her.
Has any guy (who isnt gay) ever beeen to one?
Question Author
lol who isisnt gay, why does that matter?
MrBen.

I do not know any guy who has been to a fortune teller, tarot reader etc

And women say they are the cleverer sex

Question Author
