I am like you pinkkitty scared stiff of flying and haven't flown for years and years. Scared of spider also but never harm them always catch them and put them outside also scared of big bridges like the Humber bridge or Dartford crossing. Going to Scotland soon on holiday (love Scotland) going through Glasgow as I just cannot bring myself to drive over the Irskine Bridge (don't think I spelt that right).
Ive also always had a thing about swimming near boats, my uncle on IOM has a yacht and when ive stayed and we have gone out on it, I will jump of the boat, swim as far away as possible as fast as i can, and then someone would have to come out on the dinghy and get me and row me back to the boat!
bm, balloons, really? How come? That's really different, not heard that one before!
Dentists! YES! The thought of them even giving me a scale and polish makes me sweaty, pale and shaky. Terrified. Need 6 fillings, too scared to go. May need to be knocked out.
Clowns and porcelain dolls are creepy, not a phobia just weird.
Hi leelapops , don't know that I can really explain where my fear of balloons came from , maybe if I did then I could somehow rationalise it but I can't remember being like it as a child ,and we did have balloons in the house back then. :-) xx
I have a really weird one. I have a phobia about things looking like they're growing out of something. Its very difficult to explain but I can't stand seeing mushrooms or crocuses (when they're just leaves before they flower). You know on motorways when they plant trees and attach them to poleswhen they're small to stip them blowing over? Really hate that. My family think my mad phobia is very funny.
i cannot walk over a bridge if there is a river underneath if there are gaps in the walkway and i can see moving water, i actually freeze and cannot move
I feel for the wee Santa phobics that out themselves every December at nursery!
I am phobic about buildings that move or vibrate Rockerfell Centre not good, Empire State fine, Eiffel Tower very bad, London Eye great - go figure!
glitzy anyone dressed as anything ? apologies to pinkkitty.
I am also terrified of flying, I could have gone on holiday on the 11th aug with my whole family to Thailand, but the thought of being in a metal tube 7 miles up for 10 hours was too much to bare. Also i am scared of heights, even when staying in an apartment/hotel with a balcony higher than about 2/3 storeys I can't look over the edge.Spiders dont bother me, but big moths buzzing around the light near my puter make me run for my life.
And thats the dark.
I've been scared of it since I can remember.
I'm absolutely terrified. I could never live on my own incase of powercuts. I get terrible panic attacks and cry my eyes out because of it.
I can't look out of windows when it's night or look into darkened rooms.
It scares the hell out of me
