I can't even imagine that much money- but - it could be you! If you had won that much in the lottery what would you do with it?!

GRRRRRRRRRR!!!! rant over :o)
I would imagine that I would make quite a few family members very comfortable indeed. Not being a big spender I can't see myself splurging that much..a nice house, a couple of nice cars and some holidays. What more would I need?

As you so rightly say, you only need a small portion of that to have a comfortable life and not have to work. With the rest you could do some serious charity work- I mean, travel abroad and really sort out some struggling towns or villages. In fact, surely people would expect you to do something honourable like that?
I would by the house I was born in 500,000, build a helicopter pad in the top field, buy a helicopter. Employ a helicopter pilot full time (live in). Stock the farm with Cleveland Bays and buy the best Stud i could get. I would also reseed the front meadow with the best grass possible and install the most sophisticated draining and fertilising system, or get someone to invent it. I would totally resurface the entire length of the mile long winding single track up to the house and re- fence it all too. The derelict barn/stable block near the yard gate i would convert to luxury stables with a live in vet and state of the art vet's surgery/treatment room. Hire a vet full time/live in. Convert the two story old garage at the end of the yard to a home cinema, complete with satellite installation and an electronic security system. Hire 2 security guards, full time, live in. The cellar of the house i would convert to the bestest wine cellar in all of Yorkshire and stock to capacity, hire a wine connoisseur, full time, to go around the world buying the best wine and champagne. the filed to the left of the rear of the house, next to the helipad, i would convert to a baseball pitch for my son and grandson, complete with bleachers, and i would give my son enough to establish a semi-professional baseball team to train and give exhibition games. In the field to the right of the front of the house i would build an indoor and outdoor skate park, members only, with a professionally designed website to advertise it world wide.
I think by then i would just have enough left to buy a cottage on Antigua for my retirement.

I agree with Pippa .People that have won really large amounts it has just wrecked their lives .After you have done all the holidays and bought all the cars and you can't find anything else to splash out on it's no fun anymore. My idea of a large win would be 3 million and this I would share with my children to set them up and my close friends.
no but for the next 100 years my Cleveland Bays will have a vet, security, a home, tansport etc, it will take a fortune and after i am gone i will want my family to continue and they will need money for that, i love it when a plan comes together, oh hang on, i didn't win did I? Tut, I'll just have to stick with selling shoes then grrrrr.
I've always wanted a cafe, I know it's a bit of a cliche but I'm a good cook and I'm good with people.
I'd give some money to charity, probably 5 million.
I'd buy and set up a recording studio for my son with his own label.
My family would benefit too, I'd give 1 million to each of my 3 sisters and I'd make sure my mother wanted for nothing.
I'd buy a house, nothing too grand but bigger than the 2 up 2 down I live in at the moment.
Lastly, I'd buy up as much land across the country that I could to prevent much of our countryside from being built on.
The rest would be invested.

I love the quote from one of her neighbour's
..... Its wonderful news. I just hope they look after their neighbours! .....
Yeah good luck with that! I'm sure your first on the list!
I wouldn't have the cheek to expect one of my neighbours to give me some money if they ever won the lotto (and we get on really well with everyone down our street) nevermind say that to a reporter! lol
I deffo would tick the no publicity box on the back of the ticket! Then have a blooming good spending spree!!!!! I'd buy somewhere with lots of land and move my family with us and live in a big house with lots of security. I'd also give some to charity, esp the hospice that looked after my Dad. I'd probably have to buy a business or something too to give me something to do when I'm not sunning it, you know like a hobby ;o)
God I love to dream! :o)
