If this is a serious question, and you are a parent, then you must know that your child's diet is your responsibility. If you feed your child a balenced diet of protein-based foods, and ensure he or she has regular exercise, then weight should not be a problem. Be aware that some 'overweight' children balance out as they grow, so if your child is young, don;t be too concerned. If you feel weight is a serious issue for your child, refer to your GP for professional advice, although I would think sending your child away from home is not an option you would want to consider.
I respect andy hughes as a contributor to this site very much, and as a parent I personally agree with much of what he says - however, this is a question and answer site and we we were not asked for our opinion or judgement. There is a link here which gives some info on a residential course in Leeds for weight loss. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/397323.stm
Thanks for your kind words kags. on reflection, I think I may have jumped on the moral ground a little quickly, so please accept my apologies Mr / Mrs / Ms Totty, and any others, if aspects of my response gave any offence.
