I've been suffering with inflamed gums and bleeding for some time now. Even though I floss - which the dentist assures me will solve this - doesn't seem to improve...Any other remedies would be welcomed
Perhaps you are using too firm a brush. If you brush twice a day correctly (correct pressure etc can be advised by a dentist or hygenist) with a medium brush your gums shouldn't be bleeding or inflamed. There is a gel you can buy from your dentist or chemist called Corsidol or something which is used to combat gum disease such as Gingivitis but should probably only be taken on recommendation from a professional. I hope you find a cure soon. x
You could try an electric toothbrush. We have one called the Sonicare by Philips which was very expensive when we bought it over a year ago - around 90 I think. It came with a base unit and two heads. I think these toothbrushes are a lot cheaper now. It's very good for brushing the margins. Good luck.
