Can anyone recommend a good brand of hair dye that will do the trick without ruining my hair. I'm sick of paying hairdressers over 100 for highlights/lowlights. Just had it done a couple of weeks ago, you wouldn't know anything had been done yet it cost a fortune. I'm not particularly keen on home dying, but I've been told that hair lighlighting kits are much better nowadays, so I'm willing to give it a bash. Oh and I should mention that I have around 25% grey hair. Thanks. bizzylizzy

the loreal one that you brush in is quite good..... i don't know where you live, but you could try going to a local hairdressing school and see what they charge for colouring (mine do it for about 25 quid) they are well supervised - just as 'risky' as DIY.... this is my logic anyway - i am going for a 'colour correction/colour/lowlight extravaganza on friday... wish me luck, and best luck to you
salons are always looking for people to practice on and there will always be (or should always be!) a senior stylist at hand to keep an eye on things in case it all goes wrong. doing it yourself is risky, you should get a trusted friend to give you a hand as doing the back is especially tricky.
