35 Answers
Were can i find decent prices on:
1. Demerol
2. Valium
3. Codeine (not essential)
I was told by my chemist to import the drugs from America so thats why i'm asking you. I have looked but can only see information and rehabs and high prices.
Don't bother with the codeine as its for a friend who is addicted to it.

I use Demerol for pain relief and Valium for my insomnia.
Stupid pharmacy telling me to import them, what the hell are customs going to think when they see a load of drugs, and thats a point, is it legal to import those drugs?

Your chemist told you to import them? Uh, I don't think so mate! Having previously worked as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years I can tell you categorically that no Pharmacist would seriously suggest something that ridiculous.
You can argue with me 'til the cows come home but it doesn't change the difference between fantasy and reality.
A Pharmacist telling you to import a controlled drug....hahahahaha!!

I don't know if she was serious or if he was joking or if she was not well trained, she had one of those name tags on that said trainee.
I don't know what else to do. if can't get the drugs, i can't get my sleep and am in pain and then i will be in hospital again and i don't want to go.
Anyway, you might be a well trained pharmacy technition but judging by what you said its clear she wasn't.
Please, take me seriously, i'm not joking.

Well Xroads, unless you are in the late stages of terminal cancer or are in labour, I can't see why you particularly need Demerol. If you were in such a physical state that you need that kind of analgesia you would probably already be in hospital.
A Pharmacist would have given you suitable advice if you had presented with with severe pain, (even if it was only to tell you to see your GP as soon as possible). Also, the first thing a trainee would have been taught would be to refer you to the Pharmacist if they were not able to advise you.
I am sorry that I have not taken you seriously but you see I, and most people that work with drugs, have seen and heard it all and I am afraid that you come across as typical of what we have all dealt with before.
I have to ask you, why, if you really are genuine, are you not seeking treatment from your GP? After all, that would be the usual course of action for most people in pain.

Ok Aprilis you've drilled it out of me.
I started using Demerol about a year ago, and was prescribed it for a long time, until about 6 months ago, for treating a moderate pain i had, (were some steel racking dropped on me at work.)
After that i had recovered and it was decided i would no longer recieve the Demerol on prescription. I had become addicted to the Demerol and withdrawrel brought on some nasty effects. It was agreed i would be prescribed the Demerol for another 6 month period with the dosage gradually decreasing. About a week ago now, my old gp left and the new gp refused to keep prescribing my Demerol. I had a few arguments with him, and he told me to go find it else were. So i tried and thats were this question has come from. The other drugs (excluding the codeine) are for my insomnia.
The coedine is for my friend who had a similar case to mine and is now addicted to codeine. My gp also refused to prescribe the other drugs i required for my insomnia because he felt there were better treatments available.

Let's not persue this any further. I have read your other threads and I am standing my ground. You are definitely typical of what I have dealt with before. Demerol is indeed not a name used in the UK as stated by another ABer. That's just one of the things that gave you away. Add to that the fact that you have little idea in what circumstances such a drug would be administered and I think you will start to see where I am coming from here.
If that is genuinely the case (I am still not convinced) then you do still have an addiction problem that needs to be addressed by your GP. This is something that can be dealt with if you are open and honest about this with your Doctor. However, if I can spot an addict who is trying to get drugs by whatever means it takes, then your GP will have had you sussed in the blink of an eye. If you genuinely want to break the addiction go and be truthful with your Doctor.
Aprilis, it is hard enough for me to talk about it on here, without talking to my gp.
I would like help but my gp won't give it to me. He says that i don't need the demerol because i am not addicted.
I am refusing to go and talk to him, because he is like everybody else. He won't believe me.
I'm going to order those drugs, i don't need no prescription, i can't get help so why am i bothering.

Xroads, self medicating when you don't know what you are doing is a dangerous path. If you won't seek help from your GP then find a local drugs counsellor who will help you work through it. You may have to get your GP to make a referral though. The fact is you are addicted and this needs addressing. It can only be done if you ask for a referral for your addiction. I know it is hard but it's necessary. Do you have a friend who can help you, go with you and support you?
Your GP is right not to give you Demerol, it is a narcotic drug for severe (not moderate) pain. There are other forms of analgesia that you can be given but I am not qualified to say what those might be in your situation. I know nothing about you other than what you have said. What I will say though, is that it is quite likely a great deal of your pain will be due to withdrawal of what you have been taking up until now. Once the withdrawal symptoms fade then so will a lot of the pain you are experiencing. Not that I suppose that is of any consolation to you at this moment.
There is so much more to this than I am in a position to advise on and I would not be so presumptous as to try. So please, do the right thing and seek proper help. Don't self medicate, you will do far more harm than good and believe me, you will regret it in the long run. Please try and see reason and tell your GP you need help with the addiction or at the very least find someone who can point you in the right direction.

B00, when you realise this was a serious post that evrybody else has messed up by not taking me seriously just like every other post i make then why not come and post somthing sensible.
The answer is, by the time you've realised some things may be a joke but others are not, i will be long gone from answerbank.

B00, I'm with you on this one but judging from the stuff that does get posted on here by crossroads it would not surprise me in the least if he really is a drug user. I have seen the Walter Mitty type fantasies so many times and they seem quite often to go hand in hand with long term drug abuse.
I got a bit sucked in by the fact that whatever the truth of the situation, he sure does have a genuine problem of one type or another.
Sorry crossroads but that's just how it is from where I'm standing.

Ok, i'l square up with you.
Some months ago now, around when i posted stupid things, the reason i did it was not a reason of choice.
I had a good friend of 20 years, and sadly he died. He was killed when the building he was working in collapsed on him. For a few months after that, i was obviously sad but it also affected my mental health. I was put on anti-depressants and eventually on going into the hospital last week, i was told that my mental health had retuned to normal. Some of my posts during that period were true and some were not.
But now i am recovered i am back to myself as i was when i first joined answerbank. I didn't really want to go into detail about that, and you will most likley think i am not telling the truth about that but its the truth and there you go.
I'm off for a nap.

I'm sorry crossroads, but i'm afraid this is a case of 'the boy who cried wolf'. We've had weeks of you now falling down 14 floors from the lift shaft as you were fixing it, posting from your home in Canada, which suddenly turned out to be your holiday home. Tromping across Hadrian's wall within a few hours, winning the lottery, but you can't actually remember which one it was.....

How the sodding hell are we supposed to take any of your posts seriously?
