Not just the kiddies are back to school

Good Morning ABers. It s 6:11 am here in sunny NYC and I wll be heading out shortly to meet my new classes today. I wonder what type of chaos will greet us this year.

I have 5 full classes and at 34 per class that makes 170 minds I get to warp, err, I mean mold this year.

For eveyone heading back to school have a great year and remember the Christmas hols will be here sooner than we think.

good luck, EngTeach. My impression is that American kids generally speak better English than British ones do, even if (as Miss South Carolina has demonstrated) geography isn't their strong point. Do your students cover a wide age range?

Hi Eng teach! I just went back today too and on the staff noticeboard it says 30 or so days till Half term!!!
I have missed them though and was great to be back.
We only have 12 in the class as they are special needs - cannot contemplate 170!!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It was a pretty good day. 2 boys were suspended already. They are "repeat offenders" and hopefully we can move them out to a more suitable program.
Hau Kola- Pardon my ignorance, but what does a housemother do? I assume the boys live at their school?

My students range from about 14-18. I am teaching 2 ninth grade classes, 2 12th grade classes and 1 eleventh grade group. The little ninth graders are sweet. For now. They are more afraid than anything right now.

Hopefully things will go well. It was to go back. I get paid to talk all day. How bad can it be??? LOL
