Ive been told its very uncomfortable ... How long does it take to do the 1st time?

hi Trish, if it is one of thos4e mobile ones they just take your basic details, 5 mins and you're out. i went and wasn't very comfortable about it and left, much to the annoyance of several people, but i do daft stuff anyway.

Hello PatriciaH , I can only speak for myself but I can tell you it's nothing to worry about . You are in there for a very short time and each boob is only on the scanner for less than a minute. I wouldn't call it that uncomfortable and it doesn't hurt. I guess it depends on what size you are as to how it feels . Please don't worry though , I'm sure you know how important it is , and I am sure once you have your first one you won't worry about the next. All the best :-) x

Not very comfy ,but it's your health and only takes a few minutes , go for it as I have had 2 lumps removed ,and am here to tell the tale . Be brave x

Aww dont' worry Pat it can be a bit uncomfortable but it only lasts a few seconds. They squash your boobs between X ray plates. I have had it done twice and it really is nothing you are in and out very quickly and the radiographer is always very nice, she has seen thousand if not millions of us and she handles your whatsits like a true professional hehe. Seriously its nothing and well worth it.

yeh like the others. they ask you to take your top off and give you a robe to put on then provide a basket to put it in aswell as all your other bits (handbag etc) they get you to carry the basket around from one room to another. first the mammogram room. then you have a scan in another room then you speak to the doctor. its really straight forward. its all squishing and pressing. uncomfortable but its worth it. hope all goes well for you.
