I cannot understand why people can't understand the scottish! I used to live with a scottish family in Holland (a company director of the firm) and understood them perfectly. when everyone returned to England and he used to come into the office here - no one could tell a word he said. Secretaries used to be quaking if he asked them to do anything and would look pleadingly towards me for translation. It was funny actually!!!!!
No I haven't !! But when did you last speak to a Scottie person without having to say Could you please slow down a bit or What's that in English. They are very sweet but haven't got a clue.
That disney count. If you are Scottie then it is to be expected that you will have a heid start when it comes to talking to another Scottie. For those of us hundreds of miles south of Hadrian's Wall it is a hopeless task, and sometimes I wonder why we even bothered running the railways that far north.
