I went home on Wednesday from work due to an accident at work, I was off on Thursday and Friday due to pregnancy related problems UNRELATED lol, feeling sick and more fainting etc..... I came into work today and my bos has been awful, told me he is very annoyed with me and that I'm being watched!!!!! (This is a relativly big company) He said that he is paying me to be here and I wasnt therefore he is losing patience! I sat there crying whilst he told me that he has been through this with his wife and knows what its like but I have to come to work...... After about 5 minutes of pure grilling and after I managed to stop crying for long enough, I told him that he was being insensitive to how I was feeling and that he hasnt been through what I feel like and that if he carried on I would leave the company. He asked me not to. I went to HR and put in a complaint and she was lovely, I have a meeting at 4pm with them both to discuss cutting my hours down a bit so I dont feel so tired. I'm just after a bit of advice, what things do I need to say at the meeting, what happens if he carries on being horrible to me and can they sack me whilst pregnant? I'm permanant and been working here since March....

He simply cannot make you work if you unwell or hold it against you because of being pregnant.
If he's not careful, he could stress you out, which isn't good for the baby. Maybe you should tell him this!

You can be sacked whilst youy are pregnant but they will have a bloody difficult job of proving that you were incompetent. Its there job to prove that you were sacked for reasons other than your pregnancy not your job to prove that they sacked you because of it. Employment laws heavily protect pregnant women and if your boss continues to harass you because of a few days off you can claim that its constructive dismissal and get a payout because of that.
I wouldn't worry. Your boss is probably in for a right telling off. Incidentally how pregnant are you?

If you are going to cut your hours don't forget this will affect your mat pay
Your employer cannot sack you for being off sick whilst pregnant, what they can do however, is if you are off sick after 29 weeks with a pregnancy related illness such as morning sickness, SPD etc they can enforce maternity leave to start
Have you had your risk assessment yet? http://www.tuc.org.uk/h_and_s/tuc-9712-f0.cfm
Your employer should actually be providing you with a rest room where you can rest as often as need be
Best of luck for this afternoon

That was discusting how he dealt with that, what a way to be and to then make you cry, to be honest he needs sorting out. And if he is not careful he should get disiplinary action because that is bullying you and discriminating you. Ar$ehole.
You are working for him and had two days off, you cant help being sick can you no one can, are you suppose to come into work being ill and unable to do your job properly.
You should say in the meeting that you would have come into work if you felt well enough, that if you had come in you felt you would have not been able to work properly.
That you feel he bullied you when talking to you today, if you are normally in work and are reliable say this say its not a normal thing that you are off and are only off when you really are unwell. Im guessing you are normally in work and are a good woker mention all this and try and shut him up!
