I am looking to get a very small tattoo on my inner wrist but I am currently in my final year of university and once I've graduated I'll be looking for a job in marketing.Does anyone think that having a tiny tattoo there will affect my employability? I already have one on my back but thankfully that will be covered up!
if you are going into marketing i wouldnt have a visible tattoo it doesnt send out a very good impression to potential customers does it?if you have a visible 1 on your wrist you might as well have 1 on your forehead as far as im concerned.
Surely you can conceal it with a watch or even just long sleeves? I have two facial piercings and I dont believe they have ever held me back, although I do an entirely different job from you. Tattoos do not hold the same stigma they once did.
i dont agree stoke; as long as its small and unassuming shouldn't be a problem. i have one abt 2 inches long on my rt inner wrist. i'm a paralegal and haven't had a problem working w/in the law field.
I think youve answered you own question by being thankful that you cannot see the tattoo youve already got.
Dont have one in a visible place, that cannot be covered up by your clothing.
You might be sick of the sight of it for the next 50 years or so.
hi kyra ive got a tattoo as well on my arm i own my own conservatory building business but i would feel uncomfortable dealing with customers if i had a visible tattoo say on my hands when im trying to sell someone a conservatory.just me i suppose.....
Im going to be graduating next year too and i have a tattoo on my wrist.
I was going through EXACTLY the same thing as what your going through now, but i thought it through, after a long time of umming and aahing, and got it done as i can cover it up with a watch or a long sleeved shirt when need be.
And i'm sure you know that you just need to be utterly sure before you do it.
some businesses still ask for tatoos to be covered, I have to cover mine and carry microporous tape if Im wearing a top which shows mine at the shoulder, maybe the wrist wouldnt be a good idea, the ankle would be good tho?
Whilst having a highly visible tattoo obviously won't affect you when you've got the job, I would have thought it would be frowned upon in the interview stage for said job.
If you really want one- why don't you wait until you have a job before getting one?
alijangra - I would say the wrist is highly visible, especially on a male, hand-shaking etc, I would notice unless shirt sleeves were too long in which case the person would look like their clothing doesnt fit lol
hi stoke!!! how r u? you're right because when i deal w clients i cover mine too!? lol but the thing is i'm all for tatoos! got one on my back and on my ring finger too! : )
My friend has a barcode inside his wrist! Maybe it's in case he gets lost - like a microchip in a dog perhaps. I know that doesn't answer your question but it amused me.
