Yep, every birthday, Crimble and aniversary, I always give Mr Boo chocolates of some sort. He's worse than any woman I know for needing chocolate on a regular basis.
men (as I have been told) do not express the same joy on recieving flowers or chocolates as women. often the gift is met with a confused look, the chocolates are not treated with respect either
I have received flowers, which was nice.
I have also received chocolates, although I suspect these were for sharing.
So as a generalisation, it does happen.
Those men that dont receive such gifts probably dont deserve them!
I dont ever give my husband chocolate cos hes not a big lover of it and I would end up eating it myself. I do buy him a chocolate bar if im in the shop buying it anyway though.
Never given him flowers either its not something I have ever thought of buying him.
i often buy my boyfriend flowers............ not chocolate so much but defo flowers. if i'm walking pass a flower shop and i see a beautiful red rose or a bunch of sunny geroboa's it makes me think of him and i have to buy it and give it to him so that he knows i was thinking about him
I gave you a rose earlier :-) I guess thats what sparked this post. :-) I give my bloke chocolate, but never boxes of them, more celebrations or easter eggs etc. I've given gay men flowers. Weird isnt it
I've just remembered about the time Mr O had to have a massive amount of dental work done. He was at home looking like a hamster with full cheek pouches when his mother arrived with a gift for him....a huge box of toffees.
I have never thought about it to be honest, esp not flowers. I do but him chocolate, although I will buy 'posh' bars or new things - he's a sucker for marketting and loves trying anything that is "new" or "improved" or just had peanuts added to it.
You have inspired me to buy him a box of chocs and flowers now though. It will have to wait til payday though.
I do buy him lots of other presents, books, DVDs, 360 games, etc.
It was an email from 4get which sparked the Q (read your replies 4getme)
Alas, all the flowers I get are the emoction (sp)? ones on the end of emails from mrs4GS or the sister-in-law or other femail friends.
thanks for your great replies guys!!
:-))
PS, my fave chocolate is German or belgian dark
I buy Mr Hellion chocolate and I do buy men flowers on occasion too, depending on the man, i.e. gay or men who love their gardens - Mr Hellyon fits neither of those categories so hence the chocolate!
