Hi there It's my birthday next week and i'm getting some GHD straighteners. I have seen those new MK4 ones, but also lots of others. What are the best ones to get. My hair is long down my back with lots of layers in it and I have a layered fringe too. They are expensive to buy so thought i'd ask advice of others as there are so many different pairs on the website. Thanks xx

does the straighteners being pink make a difference? :-)
my daughters pink ghd's have recently stopped working ,after doing her research she has got babyliss ones to replace them which were half the price and we are both really impressed with them. i still have my ghd's and on comparison the finished result is no different!
yeah the pink ones are pink because they warm up to 1.7 degrees hotter then the standard ones.....

thats what makes the better.....

Thanks again eyebrows xx
oh I was trying to be funny there and didnt know there was an actual differnce. Now I now :-)
are the pink ones are only in the standard paddle size?, if you have very long hair the wide paddle is better. I have standard and wide paddled ones and I rarely use the smaller ones as I also have long hair. It cuts at least 15 minutes off straightening time. 1.7 degrees is nothing, My hair is super curly and the non pink ones do a fine job on my hair.
Oh and the new ones have curved edges so this is supposed to make curling easier.
ok sorry this is too funny listening to you girls.....

i know nothing about hair straightners, all i know is my girlfriend fleeced me of 120 to get pink ghd's....

sorry....i was a joke that got out of hand....

tee hee hee
Hi, rosenicola! I have the MK4 GHDs and really like them. They're a lot better for curling than the originals as they're more curved, they turn themselves off after half an hour if they're not being used and they're also dual-voltage so that you can use them in the US. x

Doesn't anyone have a nice perm anymore?
I go with goudsoulette!!

Thick long hair is a doodle to straighten with wide plate ghd's....

Plus GHD offer a lifetime warranty...if they stop working, send them off, they either recondtion them or replace!!!!

Hi, I have the original GHD straightners and i think they are the best! not sure of the full name.
They are thin plates, i have long hair with lots of layers and they straighten my hair perfectly, these are the only straightners that have ever REALLY straightned my hair and made it last all day and night no matter what the whether is, i have naturally curly hair as well!
No, they don't, happyjo. It's a standard two year guarantee. It's only through goodwill that they repair or replace them after that two years is up.

Nearly everyone I know has had a proble with the cable coming loose so that they don't work properly. One of my friends sent hers back and they replaced them straight away. When I sent mine back, I was offered 30 off the new MK4's and when another of my friends pair sparked and set on fire, all they did was replace the cable (all cases out of guarantee)!
yes curlyperm does :-)
