after a thread about smokers driving. do you ever get fed up with the way that the smokers whine on , or wheeze in some cases . about their right to smoke? well i do . jeez its a combination of toxic chemicals that youre burning . burn it elsewhere. they litter streets with dog ends everywhere . hang about in doorways like lost souls . on a cold day it looks like a gathering of junkies all huddled and shivering. smoking is antiscocial and is not nice . as smokers in the uk are in a minority then why should they dictate to us nonsmokers? i say do as youre told smokers or shut up. whingeing and moaning , give us a break and some fresh air ffs
I'm not a smoker but I do appreciate the revenue this country gets from them in taxes and I certainly wouldn't like to find the government wanted to take that revenue from something else to make up for everyone in the UK giving up smoking.
The ban was a good idea on the whole, in public places like shopping centres, hospitals, airports etc, but pubs? All of them? There should have been a fair divide of smoking and non smoking pubs per area and allow adults to choose. Most old pubs you go in now stink of tinkle, i'd rather smell ashtrays to be honest!
Im not sure which topic we are on 4get, it seemed to be smoking and junkies but then legless mentined immigrants lol quite a lot to debate on there if you ask me. Just dont anyone mention alcohol or alcoholics cos that seems to be a real no go area with legless lol
ps 4get gimme a bit of choccy, Im getting real junkie type cravings for it here :)
Despite all of the advance publicity over the ban it would seem that most premises were caught on the hop..........there is a woeful lack of provision of exterior ashtrays out side pubs, bars, etc. which leads to the awful amount of discarded cigarette ends everywhere.
Businesses couldn't care less about provision for the smoker. They don't have to and therefore they don't.............
Had there been a little more consideration paid before July 1st as to just how the ban would work in practice it may not have caused all of the upset it has..........
aww stop ya whinging legless. You have put up a post on a public board inviting people to discuss something. If you only want answers of a certain kind you should make that plain when you post....ie
blah blah blah blah blah and please only answers from people who are agreeing with me.
I agree with the folks that say places smell now that smoking is banned. I dont go in pubs so cant comment on that but our canteen at work reeks of sweat, farts, cheese and onion sandwiches and other smelly food since the smoking ban came in and also you can really smell the toilets which are just opposite :(
Yes legend I do smoke,I also have emphysema. And no i'm not a drain on the NHS as I have a do not resuscitate order on my medical notes.I do not visit my doctor if I have problems related to my emphysema either. I have to say though that the form of emphysema I have is hereditary and non smokers get it as often as smokers,it is called Alpa-1-Antitrypsin.Some of my siblings also have it.
I couldn't understand why when I went into the porch to retrieve the post there was a terribly strong smell of cigarette smoke.........this has happened quite a lot over the past couple of months..............enough for Mrs Monkey to narrow her Monkeyeyes and question my affirmation that I have indeed forsworn the evil weed..............and I promise that I intend to anyday now....but I digress....
Aha ! I live next door to a guesthouse and the residents are forced to go outside for a smoke. The bracing Blackpool weather obviously has them huddling near the door and I'm getting 'smoke-creep'...............!
You come across as rather aggressive and a bit rude leg_end758, is that your intention? Do you always fly off in a hissy if people have views that are different to yours? It's just so i know for future reference.
