i did give up smoking due to pregnancy , 5 years ago!
Best thing i did!
I would give up if it was going to susbstantially prolong my life, if it was a case of give up and you'll get an extra 6 months or so, then no i cant say i would. Enjoy whats left, the little pleasures in life. If however i was told IF you dont give up you will die, then i would immediately give it up, no question!
Its a personal choice though and as an ex smoker i can understand why people don't . smoking and drinking are both seriously addictive, its not an easy thing to do.
choice niumber three is a toughie because we all know the dangers of smoking and drinking but we still do it. My dad was a big drinker and a heavy smoker and he passed away at 60 from a massive heart attack that killed him on the spot!
They are selfish habits but thats human nature i guess. I used to beg my dad to give up both but he never did so ultimately it was a selfish act. However it didnt stop me taking up smoking but as regards drinking, i am very wary of when i feel i might be having too much too often and give my body a rest to avoid getting addicted. I want to be able to enjoy having a drink for the rest of my life, nott go overboard now and pay the price later.
