Morning to you all. It's that time of year again when people start to queue for the flu vacs. I was at my gp on friday and was given one then. Do you have one and are they widly available in your area ? :-) xxx
Morning mamma,
I took the 4GS baby for hisMMR last week and the surgery is full of ads for the flu jab. No use to me I'm afraid, because germs just bounce off me!!
Hello john, hope baby didn't get too much in the way of after effects from the MMR . I expect you are immune to everything going with the amount of vacs you will have been given in your time in the forces eh ? :-) xx
My ex had one once after he was advised to because hes asthmatic. After having the jab he had a nasty bout of flu and the got chicken pox having never had a childhood illness in his life! Of course it couldnt have happened to a more deserving person haha! Wouldnt wish that on anyone else though. I was actually given one at the same too which surprised me that they even gave it to me as I was in my early 20's and fit and healthy. I was fine but never bothered to get it done since as I never felt the need to.
I'm entitled to the flu jab every year because of my asthma,I was diagnosed with emphysema in December last year as well so its important that I have the jab.I never have side effects from it. The year before last I missed out on it completely because my surgery ran out of the vaccine.
I get a letter every year saying should have it as I'm asthmatic.
And every year I throw it away.
Touches Wood. I've never had flu in my life and I don't see how injecting the flu virus in to me is going to do me any good at all! I think I'll continue to muddle along...
I have mine due to being asthmatic too and am given it before the general flu vac clinic opens mid october . I haven't had bad side effects either daffy but Psychick , my sister can't have it as she had a bad reaction to it one year.
I was given the pneumo (sp) vac as well a few years ago daffy to prevent pneumonia , have you had that , you only need it once , not every year .:-)

Good Morning!
My Doc always gives me one. She feels that as a teacher I should have it. I am scheduled for one in 2 weeeks. Was supposed to have it now, but am fighting a nasty sinus infection.
To be honest I have gotten less ill since getting the shot. Best of all it is covered under my health plan.
I keep putiing off having the pneumonia one bigmamma,i've heard its more likely to give a reaction. I should get it done but I hate going to the doctor for anything.
China Doll , I hope you manage to keep flu at bay love , I will tap my head for you eh ? :-)
Hi EngTeach , hope you are coping , sounds as though you have a nasty infection , hope you get better soon :-)

My Doc always gives me one.
EngTeach, in the UK "gives me one" means that your Doctor has sexual intercourse with you on a regular basis.
What do they say about the Americans and British? Two exact cultures seperated by a common language. When I was on an exchange visit with the American Army in New York a few years back, the smokers amongst us were told not to say, "Im just going out for a fag (cigarette in English)
