Chest pain on breathing and sneezing???
9 Answers
I am generally a sneezy person and runny nose etc, and of late everytime a sneeze it kills/ really hurts my upper chest and ribs.
And today it hurts the upper chest when I breath in deeply, my boyfriend just put his hand on my chest to feel my heart beat but and it hurts when he presses just a little.
I will not go to the doctor due to a major fear of them, so I would like to know what people think it might be, if it is serious I will go otherwise, I couldn't be dragged there!
Any help, thanks in advance.

How about calling NHS direct for advice first 0845 4647 and then see what they say.
I think perhaps a trip to GP may have to be taken though so be prepared. I know how bad the fear can be but the pain of a chest infection / pluresy (sp) / cracked rib will be far worse if you leave it.

Go and get it checked out. Theres nothing to be afraid off. The doctor will simply listen to your chest and ask you to breath in out. It may simply be a chest infection sorted with a course of anti biotics. You'll be in and out of there in no time. Take someone with you, they can go in with you too.
Ahhh you guys are so nice and friendly, you have all put me at my ease, yes I might have to go to the doctors. Maybe I should call the NHS direct number first although talking about my medical problems on the phone is still not easy for me. And if they think it is appropriate I will go to the doctors.
Thing is I have not been to the doctors in so long I do not think I am still registed with them, I have moved house loads and not told them etc. They told me last time to fill out forms to reregister and what with the fear of it all I didn't fill them out. It is a horrible doctor though, which cannot really help me to go - full of drunks and weird people going nuts, I know it's a doctors but you dont want to be assulted in the waiting room do you!
Thanks for the answers
