For a project, i have to do a presentation on creative thinking and was wondering how to present it. My tutor said not to worry and that she was confident i would produce something phenomenal, so naturally the pressure is on!
I thought about making a model of Everest (mountain of knowledge) from chicken mesh and papier mache and having all sorts of ideas inside like a potato (peel away the obvious ideas with potato peeler) and have real notes on other side... a ballon floating overhead covered in cotton wool, when burst 'rains' a shower thought (papaer with ideas written on)...
I know its hard, but can anyone else give me any more ideas?

It allowed her to show the diversity of thinking, where there are constant �tie backs� to other thoughts (represented by the circular webs) and how those thoughts lead and contribute to other thoughts. She started with white twine, but coloured different strands, and when she did �tie backs�, those colours were merged to become one primary colour.
In the centre of the web, she placed Maslow's hierarchy of needs, representing the core, or �fuel� of creative thinking.
I must say, I was impressed with your own creative thought and believe it has great potential.

Hypoxia impairs judgment and creative thinking, so the higher up the mountain you go the less capable you become!
How about creating a top section and bottom section for Everest and "lifting the lid" to reveal the cavernous innner workings of knowledge and creative minds?
The potato/onion principles are fine, but seem to be used more with emotion than knowledge, so you would have to talk that one through. Good luck.

Slightly away from yours, another idea I have seen was a model of a human head with the top open, and an empty (wine) bottle with a 'knowledge' label on it hypothetically 'pouring' the knowledge into the mind/brain.
As you will know, creative thinking comes from knowing, analyzing, applying and evaluating, so perhaps you can work a similar thing with your rain / stream / waterfall idea.

Spock - would you rather jeanette was studying for a degree in binge-drinking, bulimia, KFC and daytime TV, asking for advice on her dissertation on alcopops of the 21st century?
I'd rather see enthusiasm like hers for something that floats her boat, regardless of the so-called worth of her resulting degree...!

What about 'the spark of an idea' ? You could use a sparkler.
Something to do with lateral/sideways thinking (can't think how to demostrate with your mountain but if I think of something I'll come back)
Two heads better than one/brainstorming - I often get my best ideas while talking something through with someone else, almost a thinking aloud process. May be a a way of get the mountain to 'speak'

Do it backwards.
Think of twenty related ideas. Attach them to the end of different coloured woolen threads. Add another ten blind threads. Bundle the other ends of all the threads together.
You'll then end up with a bundle of potential. You'll be able to identify the seeds of an idea. You'll be able to demonstrate the confusion of different paths. You'll be able to demonstrate that creativity demands that you explore different ideas. Creativity also demands that you know when to stop and dismiss ideas. You can demonstrate how it takes tenacity to follow the tangled path of an idea to its outcome. You can also demonstrate that other paths may also lead to other conclusions or to nothing.
Pad this out with some bullshine about when is a decision really a decision and you should get a gold star.

You could make a head from papier mach�, with its skull opened up like a food can, showing some cog-wheels (supposed to represent the mind at work).
You could then hang a light bulb over the head, that switches on everytime the cog-wheels are moving.
You could also add a hand next to the head, holding a big writing feather. (the head representing an inkwell)

what a fascinating project-I love this sort of thing! Love the way this encourages young people to really think and express-I saw some great work on various themes by students when we went to the new centre in eastbourne recently. My daughter did something for art on violence and included photographs of her friends in various threatening poses. let us know how this goes won't you?
