Why do shampoo bottles advise us to rinse and repeat? I've never done that yet. Is it a ploy to get us to buy shampoo more often? Or is there a reason why we should do this?

And more importantly - is my hair likely to fall out because I've never done it?

30 years ago I used Vosene Rev,I was only 9 years old though and didn't have much choice in the matter. :-)
In 1977?

Hopefully shampoo.

They weren't that bad!

Wey hey Rev ;-)

And yeah Daffy I am- to identical twins no less! They'll be here in March. Daughter going for another scan in 2 weeks when she's 17 weeks so we'll find out their sex then :-) I think i want to be called nana, but daughter already calls her own grandma nana and I bet they'll also call her that :-( so I think i'll have to stick to boring grandma. And I'll be younger than you then too- 38, depressing innit?
Thirty years ago my hair was washed in baby shampoo, because I was a baby!!!! I wouldn't dream of using that on my hair now though!x

Oh I love the smell of Vosene- do they still do it? Might have to buy some for Mini Boo.
Lol my point is that people have always washed their hair and shampoo is all a big con, basically you are only washing it.

Conditioners are another thing but I trained as a hairdresser and did my city and guilds and you would be surprised at how many salons by the cheapest shampoo from the warehouse and put it in a branded dispenser in the shop
baby shampoo is one of the best thinks you can use as it is mild and non irritating
Oooooh so did I!!!!!!lol Probably why we're getting so heated over something so daft!!!!lol.x
My fiance uses the loreal no more tears range for his own hair,he has very sensitive skin and anything else burns his scalp, even traditional baby shampoo.
Blo*dy hell daffy what was he using? Acid? lol
He is a big baby about his skin rev.lol. I have to admit it is VERY sensitive though. He has reactions to all sorts of things like washing powders and soaps. His hair is great though,he has a full head of thick hair,no thinning or receding at all.His dad who is 72 years old still has all his hair too and only started to go grey about 5 years ago.....good genes obviously. All the men on my side of the family started receding in their 20's
well that's what I thought B00 about the rinse...better start practising, you don't want the first thing the babies see to be a Marge Simpson lookie-likee.

I can remember when shampoo came in bright colours in little pillow shaped sachets...you only had you hair washed on Sundays, if you were lucky!
I remember Egg + Beer shampoo in the 70's, it didn't half put a brilliant shine on my beautiful ginger locks
China, I agree with you. I bought two at my daughter's request - one with sea salts and the other with tea tree oil...whilst the fragarance was nice, they didn't seem to work as well as what we use typically...I eventually carried them off to Moldova with me.

Hello , I have used a number of different shampoos but have , for the last 2 years, settled on Vosene . I only wash and rinse and don't repeat ......burp.....oops well not often anyway.:-)
you all used shampoo?? 30 years ago I was washed (hair included) in lifebuoy soap, occasionally we pushed the boat out and used pears.

I feel all scratchy now

hiya BM- id totally forgotten about Vosene and that brilliant smell it has, i'm going to get some at weekend for Mini Boo, then I can sniff her hair when she's on my knee :-)

And lol @ Cazzz- sorry.
I well remember vosene. Crum, havent seen it in years! Baby Shampoo is actually a nice astringent shampoo. But were quite well settled on the Klorane products as a family choice. Theyre diverse and meet our different hair types and colours. A few times a year, my daughter lets me put mayonnaise and lemon juice in her hair, wich she loves. My son usually joins in as well. Funny the things we do to pamper ourselves!

Ohand the hair salon trickyes indeed, Ive watched a friend do thatbad girlbaaad!

Fr Bill
Thank you cazzzzzz

She's a cheeky monkey that Robinia blue rinse indeed..gawd ..and I have just paid mega money this morning for those stripey bits !
I am still searching the shops for fourpenny sachets of Supersoft .And what happened to Breck ?
I used to get my hair washed in Pears Soap .What a palaver that was ! And then the dreaded rags.
How are you Boo? You haven't been round for a cuppa lately :))
